A number of wedding traditions and aspects that make a wedding ceremony special exist, from the bride’s march down the aisle to the wedding reception. Family, attendants, and guests have an insight to what will occur throughout the day with the help provided by the wedding program.

A personalized guidebook for the guest in a wedding is called a wedding program. The wedding program is created several days in advance, and helps by keeping a record of the wedding ceremony and providing guests with the order and details of the events that will happen in the ceremony. Wedding programs are essentially similar to the program at a theater play, and serve the following purposes:

Help the guest to feel included by helping them understand what is happening.

They introduce the people who are participating in the ceremony, the bridal party and the sponsors.

It can be used as a scrapbook and it serves as a beautiful and sentimental souvenir for everyone.

Not required is to add a few personal notes in the wedding program, but it certainly adds a unique and personal touch. For example, it can advise the guests on the following facts:

Inner-cultural, multi-cultural aspect of the ceremony

Specific readings, poetry or music names and the composer of music played can be reprinted

The names of those who attend the wedding ceremony

And a "Special Thanks" area for contributors, parents, etc

Broken down in 3 sections, the wedding program should look something like this:

1. Introduction: Names of the couple, The Wedding Date and, Time and place when the ceremony will take place.

2. The Ceremony order: The Greetings, Reading, Poetry, Exchange of vows, Explaining religious rituals, Music titles to be played

3. The wedding party by name: Names of the members of the bridal party, Name of the priest, Tributes or memorials, Thank-you notes, The couple’s special message, Directions to the reception

Creating these on computers with special 8.5x11 paper – 2sided and folded after printing is enjoyed by many couples. This nice addition can cost from 25$ to 200$ and it can be ignored if the budget is tight.
