A quick check on the Internet reveals that there are 15 or more coffee franchise opportunities. The distinction, other than the coffee, is what each offers. One way to begin to separate them is determining what each franchise costs. What kind of advertising support is provided? Are they a sit-down coffee shop operation or do they provide coffee to businesses for their coffee machines?
In order to find these answers, you will have to send in an info request to each. This is only the beginning of your research. Check out the closest franchises near you. Talk with the owners. Find out how they feel about the parent company. Is the support as promised? Are they content with their decisions? Listening to a current owner will answer many of the important questions How do you pay the franchise cost? What are the other expenses that are part of starting a new franchise? What are the local fees, license requirements, and employee rules you need to know? These are important considerations. Are there restrictions on the advertising you can do for yourself? Are you required to contribute to a joint advertising campaign run by the parent company? What kind of training and other support does the company offer? How close can another franchise be located to you? Knowing the answers to these questions will enable a new owner to make a better decision on which franchise offers the best chance of success. Knowing what is expected of you and what the company will do eliminates surprises down the road. |
